Last night at A Cappella Fest 2009, a member of a rival group was quoted as saying, "If this were a competition, [F15] totally would have won."
and we couldn't agree more.
While the night started off with the best performance SigO has ever given (considering the loss of vital member Miss Green) and another arousing yet yawning performance from your favorite (wo)men in black, it wasn't until the opening of the second act that the house was (almost literally) brought down.
The boys did what they did best and the crowd went WILD! The only a cappella group of the night to have signs made for them could have only received better response by being placed as a first act closer...before those pesky intermission exits.
Afterward, PHaze buckled down with an always tear-jerking JPark standard and some help from alumna JKroll. We don't quite understand what it's like to lose so many crucial voices in one year, but we sympathize deeply. And while some may have been praying for a slip up, the Haze delivered a perfect sound. Once they regain mass (and that stunning Shate) we're sure they'll be back to normal.
After that...well...who really stayed after that?
Once the show was over, the line began for sign ups and masses crowded to join the F15 legacy.
But auditions start today and we're skeptical of the talent the 2013 class has brought. Will the boys be able to find the illustrious few worthy of the green? Will crowd favorite JShpiz find both talent and nepotism on his side?
Whatever happens,
We'll be watching.
